Our new Maintenance Centre of Excellence has been created to remotely yet collaboratively support our sites around the country to deliver safe, sustainable improvement focussing on our equipment performance.

You will be part of a contemporary, CBD based team, utilising innovative tools and technology to add real value and new approaches to maintenance as a profession. BHP Billiton’s new Maintenance Centre of Excellence (MCOE) is the coming together of a dedicated, innovative team focused on identifying, achieving and maintaining the highest standards in maintenance for BHP Billiton globally.

As a member of our MCOE team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other high performers to redefine the way we execute maintenance at our operations around the world. You will help deliver a safe, significant, and sustained improvement in the performance of our equipment and machinery fleet – from 390 tonne haul trucks to underground rail networks to automated ship loaders, and everything in between. You will utilise innovative approaches, tools and technology to add real value to maintenance – setting new standards to guide improvement activity, transforming services and supporting our people.

These globally-focused roles will be performed from our Centre of Excellence hubs based in our Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth offices, where your diversity of thought and experience will be embraced and you will be empowered to make a real difference to our business.

An insight to our recruitment process

To ensure our process is consistent and conducted in a fair manner, all candidates are required to complete the following:

Step 1 Initial Application

The application process incorporates some key personal information, online aptitude testing and the submission of supporting documentation (resume, qualifications and evidence of Australian Work Rights (Passport/Drivers Licence etc).

Step 2 Telephone or Video Interview

Here we get to know more about you. Shortlisted candidates have the option of completing a phone or video interview.

Step 3 Online Occupation Personality Questionnaire

This is a brief online assessment that is required prior to attending an Engagement Centre.

Step 4 Engagement Centre

Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to attend one of our half-day Engagement Centres in Perth, Brisbane, or Adelaide (held during November and December 2016). Here we will conduct a an interview, assessment activities and provide a Q&A session with our Hiring Managers, to answer any questions on the role, centre or company.

Step 5 Background Checking

This may incorporate any/all of the following clearances in order to proceed:

Employment and Qualification checks

Criminal History clearance

Step 6 Offer and On-boarding

Selected applicants will receive an offer and on-boarding documents to finalise the commencement step.

You will be advised throughout the recruitment process on the status of your application, to ensure you are completely informed at all points. Those not progressing will be informed via email and/or telephone at the completion of each recruitment step. At any point you can view the status of your application, or update your information via your BHP Billiton online profile, which will be created when you apply.

Our Schedulers are integral to the success of the Global Centre of Excellence. You and your team will help define and embed the global framework for how we schedule maintenance.

Ensure consistent equipment strategies are executed globally

Schedule work intelligently alongside competing priorities whilst managing internal stakeholders and vendors

Create visibility and transparency around scheduling, ensuring optimisation of resources

Apply continuous improvement routines to ensure best in class performance is maintained
