Olympic Dam Public Exhibition Now Closed
The Draft Environmental Impact Statement was on public display for 14 weeks between May 1 and August 7.
During this period more than 700 people attended six public forums throughout South Australia and the Northern Territory regarding the DEIS for the proposed expansion of Olympic Dam.
The company's response to public submissions will be provided through the Supplementary EIS, which will also be a public document.
The Federal, South Australian and Northern Territory governments will then consider the Draft EIS, the public submissions and the Supplementary EIS in making their decisions about the project.
After government decisions about the project have been made, BHP Billiton will be in a position to consider the next steps for the project taking into account the economic climate at the time.
