Western Australia Iron Ore's Safety Plans

The President of BHP Billiton Iron Ore, Ian Ashby, has acknowledged that the recent safety performance within Western Australia Iron Ore was unacceptable to the business and has had an enormous impact on many lives. There have been five fatalities at the companys operations in the Pilbara since July 2008.
BHP Billiton Prices EUR2,250 Million Euro Bonds

BHP Billiton announced today that it has priced a two tranche Euro Bond. This comprises of EUR1,250 million of 4.75% Euro Bonds due April 2012 and EUR1,000 million of 6.375%Euro Bonds due April 2016.
First Oil & Gas from the Shenzi Field in Deepwater Gulf of Mexico

BHP Billiton announced today that first oil and natural gas production has commenced from the Shenzi development in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. The tension leg platform (TLP) has a nominal capacity of 100,000 barrels of oil per day and 50 million cubic feet per day of natural gas, on a 100 percent basis.
